At Ascend Counseling Services, we believe that everyone has the ability to face difficult situations, overcome challenges and learn new skills. 

Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that mental and emotional well-being are integral to overall health, and that therapy can be a powerful tool for achieving this balance.

We offer a variety of counseling services to meet the unique needs of our clients, including individual therapy, couples counseling, and family therapy. 

 Some areas of focus may include: depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, marital and family conflict, pregnancy and postpartum adjustment, and parenting challenges.

Our approach is client-centered, working collaboratively with our clients (and families) to identify their goals and develop a customized treatment plan. 

We believe strongly that it is important to treat the whole person including the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual challenges which may be impacting mental health. 

About PROVIDER

Hi! My name is Patricia (Trish) Pierson and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Arizona, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Washington. I am also the owner of Ascend Counseling Services, and a Licensed Clinical Supervisor.


I have been practicing counseling for over a decade.  I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Washington, and a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University. I have experience working in a variety of settings, including churches, youth programs, group practices, non-profit, tribal communities, women's health and juvenile detention. 


I am a member of the American Counselor Association, the Association for Child and Adolescent Counseling and the American Christian Counselor Association. 


Our work together may include exploring and processing experiences, building coping strategies, identifying personal strengths, working on healthy communication and relationships, in addition to other areas of personal growth. The types of therapy I typically use include the following: Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Eye-Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems, Gottman Method, family therapy, art therapy and play therapy. 

Fees & InSURANCE

$200 for initial session/$150 for follow up sessions

Insurances accepted:

Aetna, Cigna, UMR, Optum, United Healthcare and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona.

  

For out-of-network benefits, I can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

JUDY KANEMOTO

 

Taking a holistic, biopsychosocial perspective and a strengths-based approach to counseling, Judy enjoys working collaboratively with clients to create a space where they can explore their experiences and uncover their unique path to autonomy, resilience, and self-efficacy.


Trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and the Gottman Method, Judy is interested in supporting individuals through life transitions, chronic stress, trauma, and anxiety. Her approach is compassionate and empowering, grounded in the belief that each person holds the inner resources needed for healing and growth.

EMMALINE CZAJKOWSKI

 

 Emmaline offers a compassionate, collaborative approach to therapy, walking alongside you every step of the journey. She uses a holistic framework that weaves together attachment theory, strengths-based strategies, and cognitive approaches to support lasting change. 


Emmaline works with children, teens, young adults, and couples, helping them navigate the growing challenges of mental health and relationships. For clients who desire it, she also offers the integration of Christian counseling into the therapeutic process.
